Since the Supreme Court decision in 2010 known as "Citizens United" our elections have been controlled by big money flowing in from Political Action Groups whose donors are allowed to remain anonymous and whose donation limits are non-existent.

This has allowed the wealth class to hijack our American Political System to their own benefit and watch their fortunes and personal wealth increase exponentially while they watch our personal savings shrink month after month. Establish politicians on both sides of the aisle will sit idly by while this al takes place, because they are not like us, they do not understand our struggles. They do not live paycheck to paycheck. They will not suffer as the economy spirals out of control. They will still eat high on the hog. They will rest easy in their multimillion-dollar mansions. They will enjoy the finest health care. They will be waited on hand and foot. They will be warm in the winter and cool in the summer while they watch the planet burn.

Our longtime incumbent, Mike Thompson, is beholden to the monster that is Corporate Election Financing. The vast majority of funding for Thompson's campaigns, year after year, comes from PACs associated with the Medical Industrial Complex, the Corporate Health Care Lobby, and the Insurance Industry. He will never vote for Universal Health Care or lower Insurance premiums or capping profits on prescription drugs because he is a "muzzled blue dog," made ineffectual by his monetary masters.

Reforming Campaign Finance is imperative. Reversing Citizens United must be a legislative priority. The only way to accomplish this is to elect Representatives to Congress that will reject the lure of Corporate Election Financing and stand up for the vast majority of citizens that voted them into the position in the first place.
